Built in 1926, as the College chapel and performing arts auditorium, Pfeiffer Hall was named in recognition of Barbara Pfeiffer, mother of primary donors Henry 1877 (and his wife Annie Merner 1877) and G.A. Pfeiffer. The hall was renovated in 1967 with support from donors Ben 1912 and Bess 1912 Kiekhofer and and again in 1989 with support from donor Judy G. Meiley Stevenson.

The final steel beam to be placed during construction of the new Science Center was the focus of attention during the College’s Topping-Out Celebration on March 14, 2016. It’s customary for the last beam to be painted white and signed by all the construction workers and people involved in the building. Students, faculty, staff, members of the Board of Trustees, the community and neighbors were invited to the celebration and to sign the beam. Manilyn Gumapas 18 is all smiles!
